What are Paragons?
Originally, the 8 Paragons were created by God to do his bidding. Each was given limited abilities that assisted with creation. From galaxies, time itself, and creatures great and small to elements, weather, and the afterlife. In time each discovered a niche and happily fell into those rolls. From time to time these specialties overlapped and arguments would play out in epic proportions. Some mythologies today refer to them as Titans, but very little of these stories are accurate.
Eventually God grew wary of all the pettiness between them. It didn’t seem to matter how many times he punished, threatened, or even destroyed and re-created them, these behaviors continued. Instead of ending the Earth Experiment, he decided to simply walk away, but not before leveling the land and scattering the Paragons in a snap of anger. Then he disappeared, leaving them to find a way amongst themselves or to live for eternity within the ruins they would leave in their wake.
In time “The First Paragon” regenerated from the damage and broke himself free from the mountainous casket he had awakened within. The first of the 8.
To date, he has been able to find 4 others, 3 remain missing. Amalric continues to search.
It took some time to get used to relying on one another instead of reliving old rivalries. Like all beings they needed to release their egos and come together as a cohesive group if they wanted to make something of this opportunity. Together they have built a world that is unlike any other. Each fireclay protective over their children, each profoundly proud of their pride, yet they have found a way.
